Commissioner Hafendorfer has served proudly on the City Council since 2004. He is not only a resident, but a business owner in Middletown. He enjoys hearing and serving the current needs of the city, as well as, planning for the its future. Following are highlights of some of Jim’s key interests: strong city reserve, involvement not only in city meetings, but assisting in various city projects and events that help Middletown stand out, working to maintain the vital balance between the needs of both the residents and businesses, as well as expanding and enriching the great city culture in Middletown.
Jim is quite an entrepreneurial business man. Before receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1992 at the University of Kentucky, he began operating his own business, Jungle Jim’s Lawn Service, Inc. Commissioner Hafendorfer has continued operating Jungle Jim’s Lawn Service to this day and also currently operates three other businesses including JTH Properties, LLC, Hafendorfer Machine, Inc., and Jungle Jim’s Accessory Products, Inc. He is a patent award recipient, holding five awarded patents and two patents currently pending.
Along with being a Middletown council member, Jim is quite active within the community. Since 2001 to present he has been treasurer and manager of the Hillbilly Outfield annual charity event that benefits the Make-A-Wish foundation and since 2000 Jim has held a number of civic positions including President of St. Lucia, Silver Shells Beach Resort & Spa, a board member of the Community Association Presidents of the Emerald Coast, a board member of the Louisville East-Middletown Chamber of Commerce, as well as a member and treasurer of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity.
Commissioner Hafendorfer is no doubt a very active man, but he takes great pride in being a responsible council member, resident, and business owner within the Middletown community.
