Mayor Chapman and Commissioner Abbott present the championship trophy to the Eastern High School Eagles after their championship victory in the City of Middletown Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament.

As the City of Middletown Holiday Classic basketball tournament at Eastern High School continues to grow, our community continues to support it. This past week, the Eastern Eagles boys basketball team won the tournament with a 68-51 win over the Mayfield Cardinals in the championship game.  The Eagles also collected victories over the Meade County Green Wave (64-52) and the Beechwood Tigers (67-48) in the earlier rounds.  The championship victory for Eastern brought their winning streak to 5 games as they head into the new year.

This was the third consecutive year the City of Middletown has been the title sponsor for the tournament. Various businesses around the community have also contributed funding/sponsorships to the tournament to make it a wonderful experience for student-athletes, fans, and community members.  The City and Eastern look forward to continued success as the annual holiday classic continues to grow.
