First Baptist Church is a proud partner with the City of Middletown as a sponsor of the 2013 Family Fun Festival. The church’s contributions to this year’s festival includes our annual Broadway on Main production with free performances on September 6 at 8:00 p.m., September 7 at 1:30 and 3:00 p.m., and September 8 at 10:45 a.m. The show this year is entitled “It’s About Time.” The church also sponsors a float in the Main Street Parade; a 1950s Soda Shoppe in the Church basement complete with lots of early Rock and Roll; a Children’s Game Booth; and an Oasis Tent—a place to sip some lemonade in the shade for free!

Dr. Jim Cobban, senior pastor since 1999, states “At first, the goal of the Auction was to fund all of our festival activities without using Church budget monies. Since the first auction in 2002, we have been able to cover all of the festival expenses and reach out to the community in many ways. For example, we have sent a number of kids to summer camp and adults on mission projects in anti-poverty initiatives. We have been able to contribute to programs for singles moms, supportive living projects for mentally ill women, repairs and upgrades to the church property, and send church members as teachers to foreign countries. All this from a fun evening full of great buys!” For information about First Baptist Church of Middletown, please contact us by phone at (502) 245-7889, or by email at jcobban@fbcmtown.org.
