Hite Elementary Junkyard Hawks will be traveling to New York City, New York in April 2012.  While visiting in New York, the students will perform at PS 199 Jessie Isador Straus.  This is a public school made up of students in grades K-5 and is in the borough on Manhattan, close to the Lincoln Center.  While in New York, the students will be touring The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Top of the Rock, Radio City Music Hall, ride a subway, see Mary Poppins on Broadway and get a local tour of New York City, including Central Park, Chinatown, and seeing numerous homes of celebrities and locations where well known televisions shows are filmed.  The students will also be going to The Morning Show in hopes of playing on national television.  Even though the only scheduled performance is at a public school, the students will perform 2 musical selections, one using bags and one using body percussion, at Central Park, Statue of Liberty, the Ferry to Ellis Island, and anywhere we can stop and perform.
