Posted: March 25, 2011

For fun, excitement, great entertainment, learning experiences, exhausting physical challenges, retail therapy, culinary delights, memorable fellowship, prize winning pooches, an impressive community parade and fantastic fireworks please join your friends and neighbors at the Middletown’s 2011 Family Fun Festival and Craft Show.

This year’s event will be held along Old Main Street, Wetherby Park and in the First Baptist Church parking lot, Friday, September 9, 2011 (6:00 – 10:00 PM) and Saturday, September 10, 2011 (10:00 AM – 9:00 PM).

This will be the 39th year the City of Middletown has hosted a community festival.  From its humble small town beginnings this festival has grown into one of the area’s largest outdoor functions.  Middletown’s Family Fun Festival and Craft Show will truly have something for everyone.  This free festival will feature numerous live musical groups, walk around entertainers, over 100 professional vendor booths, a wide variety of food merchants, a Kids Zone with large colorful activities and games, Family Corn Hole Tournament, a Dog Show, a Parade, a Grand Firework Finale and new this year…..CRAFT ROW.

Craft Row will run the full block, on both sides of the street from Madison to Harrison.  Fine arts and crafts will be displayed for sale by some of this community’s most talented artisans and crafters.  Please plan on coming out to support this fine addition to a legendary event.  Come shop early for Christmas!

Also new this year we are having a new section for Middletown Helping Hand. We will be collecting items for Blessing In A Back Pack.  This is to support the Middletown schools to help children.  Sheila & Pat Day have a program called Mom’s Closet to help single mothers get back on their feet.  The items we will be collecting are:  canned food, boxed food (cereal, etc.), diapers, used books, back packs, used coats (gently worn), underwear, socks and belts.  We encourage you to come and share with us.  We will be giving away items throughout the day for people who participate.  The donations will be collected in front of City Hall. There will be NO money collected.

More information and schedules on festival activities will be forthcoming at MiddletownsFamilyFun.org.  Applications for Food and Commercial Vendors, Arts and Crafts Vendors, Dog Show Applications and Parade Applications are available on the website.  If you have immediate questions a festival staff member can be reached at 241-1175.
