All trash and recycling must be contained in a Republic receptacle and at the curb by 7am of your scheduled pickup.

Middletown residential garbage pickup is every Monday or Tuesday morning depending on where you live in the city.  Click here to see a map of Middletown with the collection areas highlighted.

Middletown residential yard waste is every Wednesday morning.  Please do not put garbage in with your yard waste!

Yard Waste Guidelines:

1.     Yard waste collection. The Bidder shall provide weekly separate curbside collection of "Yard Waste", as defined herein and in the Jefferson County Waste Management District Solid Waste Regulations, from each Collection Parcel in the City that is eligible for yard waste. Collection Parcels zoned for Multi-Family residential (including condominiums) along with office and commercially zoned properties are not eligible for yard waste pickup.

a.      Yard Waste collection shall be on Wednesday unless otherwise agreed. Bidder will supply a price for year-round collection of yard waste

b.     No more than 15 bundles or two cans of yard waste may be collected from any pickup from a Collection Parcel. Limbs must be cut into 4 foot lengths and no limbs over 5 inches in diameter. No bundle or can shall weigh over 50 pounds. The Bidder shall pick up Christmas trees from Single-Family Residential Parcels (and the Multi-Family Residential Parcels if that collection is otherwise being made) without requiring the trees be cut if not more than six (6) feet in length. 

Middletown residential recycling is every other week on Thursday morning.

* If the week has a national holiday, the pickup date is pushed back one day for that week

You can download the Republic Services app on your smart phone and sign up for notifications, let them know about a missed can or schedule special pickups.

LARGE ITEMS

If you have a large item to dispose of such as a mattress or couch, you must call Republic Services at 502-638-9000 to schedule the pick up. You must place all mattresses and cloth furniture in plastic bags or wrap it in plastic.
